BioTE for women

What is BioTE?

Glendale Whole Health offers natural bio-identical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) utilizing BioTE’s pellet therapy.  Bio-identical hormone replacement therapy is a way to replace the hormones men and women lose over the course of their lives by using hormones that are identical to the ones in the human body.  Balancing hormones in this natural way helps patients reclaim their health.  Dr. Speller is proud to be a certified BioTE provider.  She uses BHRT, along with other Functional Medicine methods, to help her patients attain optimal health.

What Is Bio-Identical Hormone Therapy?

Bio-identical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) is plant-based.  The hormones are exactly the same as the ones our bodies produce naturally.  BHRT can come in oral, topical and pellet forms.

Why Bio-identical Pellet Therapy?

Because it’s easy and effective!  As a patient, you receive two to four pellet insertions per year.  This way you don’t have to think about it, and the hormone is available when your body needs it.  You receive the consistent administration of the hormones, which prevents the rollercoaster-like effects patients often experience with creams, pills and injections.

How Long Does A Bio-identical Hormone Replacement Pellet Take To Work?

As each patient’s symptoms are unique, so is each patient’s path to hormone optimization.  Most patients report some symptom resolution in as little as one to four weeks, but full optimization may take up to six months.  At Glendale Whole Health, your journey will be customized to fit your specific needs.  It takes more than one to two weeks for your hormones to get out of balance, so expect it to take time to resolve.

How Much Does BioTE Cost?

Preventative medicine and bio-identical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) are unique practices and are considered forms of alternative medicine by insurance companies. If you have PPO insurance, the consultation and labs are covered as they normally are for you.  The pellet insertion and the pellets themselves are not covered by insurance.

No insurance? No problem! We’ve worked out cash pay discounts for our cash-paying patients as well so don’t let that stop you from feeling your best.
